about us.

When a child in the foster care system arrives at intermediate housing, they often carry only the clothes on their backs. These children, who are already dealing with the disruption of their home life, now must also face the social pressures of attending a new school with this extremely limited wardrobe. Our mission at Confident Threads is to provide each child with a capsule wardrobe that fits their personal style and empowers them along their journey.

Confident Threads is a non-profit, community project providing seasonal clothes for children in the foster care system and other children in need within the Atlanta metropolitan area. We work with various non-profits, foster parents and school social workers to identify  children who qualify for our program, then gather sizes and styles to purchase seasonal clothing twice a year. We partner with the community for funding and local consignment sales for private shopping access to create each individual wardrobe. Each bag contains five to seven outfits, two pajamas, and a jacket or swimsuit (depending on the season) and one pair of shoes. We cater to the individual styles and needs of these children to ensure they receive clothes that accommodate them and that they are proud to wear.

We are currently working with Fostering Hope, Family Haven, Family Promise, Jesse’s House and Bald Ridge Boys Lodge to provide for their children.
